Juvenile arrested after string of burglaries in Jeffco

DENVER (KDVR) — A juvenile is in custody after a string of burglaries in the Summit Ranch area of Jefferson County.

FOX31 received several tips from viewers that a shelter-in-place was issued Sunday night for those in the 29000 block of Summit Ranch Drive near Genesee while police looked for a suspect. The area is west of Genesee Park.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told FOX31 on Monday that the alert was due to a juvenile allegedly responsible for a string of burglaries in that area overnight.

Deputies said the juvenile is in custody, but due to their age limited information will be released on their identity.

The case is under investigation, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will release more information as it becomes available.
