Justin Bieber's latest single, "Boyfriend"

Beliebers can soon tune into Canadian pop star Justin Bieber's much-hyped new video for "Boyfriend," premiering on Thursday, May 3.

The new clip, directed by longtime Bieber collaborator Colin Tilley, will get its first play in the US on MTV on Thursday, May 3, at 7:50 p.m. ET during MTV First: Justin Bieber. After the premiere, the star will sit down for a 30-minute interview on MTV.com. Fans can tweet their questions to @MTVNews with the hashtag #MTVFirst or #AskBieber.

Soon thereafter, the video is expected to hit all the usual channels, including Bieber's VEVO page and MTV.com.

For weeks, Bieber has been releasing video teasers that flaunt a more erotic side of the 18-year-old with artistic shots of the him whispering in a girl's ear and staring seductively into the camera. Other teaser clips show the star suspended in water and striking a Michael Jackson pose against a full moon backdrop, and being swarmed by female hands.

"Boyfriend" is the first single from his upcoming third studio album, Believe. The track debuted at number two in the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and number one in Canada.
