The Votes Are In: This Is Who Won 'Dancing With the Stars' for Season 27
Just in: After being predicted to come in last place, Bobby Bones officially won Dancing With the Stars season 27.
Bobby, and his pro partner, Sharna Burgess, have had quite the underdog story on the show. Despite receiving much lower scores in comparison to the other finalists, the pair has continued to step up their game and win the hearts of fans all over. From Bobby breaking out into a floss during New York City night to living his best life in M.C. Hammer pants for his brilliant Cha Cha in week four, the country music radio host has proven he's a force to be reckoned with. And now, all of Bobby and Sharna's hard work has culminated in a huge victory for the duo.
When host Tom Bergeron announced the news, Bobby was beyond ecstatic to be crowned the champion. "Thank you to the people. Thank you to Sharna who made all of this possible," was all Bobby, who was overcome with emotions, could say.
This win is huge for Sharna as well, as it is her first Mirrorball trophy ever. Sharna’s victory makes her one of 16 pros to have ever won the ultimate prize. Former pro Derek Hough currently holds the record of most wins at a whopping six titles.
To win the competition, Bobby had to beat off some seriously impressive talents. Finalists Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe, Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten, and Milo Manheim and Witney Carson all majorly crushed their last dances in the finale and gave performances of a lifetime. Undoubtedly, the race was a close one.
As Bobby told GoodHousekeeping.com, he thought that the judges wanted a more seasoned dancer to be crowned the champion.
"I don't think they want me to win, frankly," he previously explained to us. "I think the judges want somebody who came in with more dance experience to win. But that's why the show isn't just about the judges - it's also about the people."
It turns out, the people's opinion mattered most. So, what is Bobby going to do now? As he revealed to us, he and Sharna have some pretty serious plans to celebrate their "W" together.
"We're getting little Mirrorball tattoos!" Bobby declared.
Bobby's excitement seems to match what his fans online are feeling. Immediately after Bobby was given the trophy, fans freaked out in the best way:
