Julian Assange Loses His Appeal on Extradition to Sweden

London's High Court has rejected an attempt by Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to block his extradition to Sweden to face rape charges. The court upheld an earlier ruling in favor of the extradition.

Assange can now appeal again to the UK's Court of Appeal and then, possibly, the Supreme Court.

Assange has been accused of sexual misconduct by two different women in Sweden, where a European Arrest Warrent was issued on suspicion of rape and sexual molestation. The investigation arose shortly after Wikileaks released thousands of U.S. diplomatic cables, leading Assange and his supporters to claim that the charges are politically motivated.
