Julia Barretto reconciles with father
25 May - Julia Barretto recently admitted to have reconciled with father Dennis Padilla, after photos of the two of them at the Billy James Fitness Centre was published on Instagram.
As reported on ABS-CBN News, the actress, who spoke to the media recently, stated that the two of them have already patched things up way before the gym photo.
"I was really surprised to see him at the gym. I knew that we both go there, but we never stumble upon each other due to our schedule," said Barretto.
"But we've talked. We've been talking even before the meeting. It wasn't like we patched things up there. We patched things up even before the incident," she added.
Nonetheless, Barretto admitted that she was really happy that the two of them are on good terms again.
"At the end of the day, he is still my dad," she said.
Barretto's falling-out with Padilla started back in 2014, when the actress decided to petition to drop her father's surname.
Although Padilla confessed that he was hurt by her decision, and thought that it was due to the issue of financial support, Barretto's camp explained that the actress has always used the surname 'Barretto' and just wants to formalise the name in the NSO records to avoid confusion in the public's mind.
