JoyRx is a nonprofit organization that offers music programs for kids in hospitals dealing with the effects of cancer and serious illness. Regional Director Grace Holland spoke with Studio 512 about JoyRx’s upcoming gala on February 8th, which will be headlined by Joss Stone.

“At JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association, we know it takes more than medicine to treat cancer and serious illness. When a child is facing life’s most challenging moments, they also need emotional healing.

“JoyRx Music, JoyRx Mentorship, and JoyRx Nature programs create feel-good moments for children and help them positively shift their mood to relieve the sadness, anxiety, and isolation experienced during lengthy treatments and hospitalizations — transforming their pediatric healthcare experience. JoyRx heals. We’ve seen it.

“For 28 years, we’ve been delivering programs to help kids find their Joy — one song, one friendship, one breath of ocean air at a time. When a child experiences Joy, their emotional well-being is positively impacted. Simply put, Joy makes sick kids feel better.”

“Acclaimed English soul singer Joss Stone brings her musical prowess to the stage for our ‘Live From The Heart’ benefit concert taking place Thursday, February 8th at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 9:00 p.m. Preceding the concert, the annual gala features a dinner and a live auction, presented by Texas Children’s Hospital – Austin.
