Joyride ends in citation for Scranton man

Aug. 29—A 20-year-old Scranton man out for a joyride earlier this week struck a wall in the front yard of a Newton Twp. home and drove off, state police at Dunmore said.

Christopher Rowlands Jr. will receive two traffic citations stemming from the crash on Newton Road.

At 6:38 a.m., state police responded to the home for a report of property damage. Rowlands, state police later learned, struck a yard wall at 40 mph and damaged the homeowner's yard.
