Journal to co-host forums for governor, congressional candidates

The Providence Journal, in partnership with The Public's Radio, Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island, will host two candidate forums leading into the general election.

“The Providence Journal is proud to partner with The Public's Radio, the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College in holding these forums so the public is better informed on where our candidates stand on the issues that matter the most to the people of Rhode Island,” said David Ng, The Journal’s executive editor.

On Thursday, Oct. 13 will be a gubernatorial candidate forum at RIC at 6:30 p.m., and on Monday, Oct. 17 will be a forum among Congressional District 2 candidates at URI, also at 6:30 p.m.

We are proud to join with the University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College and the Providence Journal in this effort,” said Torey Malatia, TPR president, chief executive officer and general manager.
