Josh Norman opens up, big time!

In the latest issue of ESPN The Magazine, Josh Norman goes on the record for some topics that will generate a lot of buzz about a guy who has yet to play a down in the shadow of the nations capital.

All fine, all opinions, and all the kinds of things he’ll be asked about a lot during the course of a season.

For starters, he takes a shot at NFL Comissioner Roger Goodell, the subject of much criticism from fans and players alike, by saying he is “straight horrible”. he also weighs in on the team name, ‘Redskins’, as well as issuing the proclamation that he’s the “best cornerback on Earth”. For good measure, he wonders aloud when New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would “grow up.”

A ‘fun’ read. Good luck with the newfound celebrity Josh.

It’s a slow go with Josh Doctson, still.

The news about rookie wide receiver Josh Doctson continues to be hit and miss. The latest comes from Redskins head coach Jay Gruden who says he believes might be ready for week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the opening night of Monday Night Football. This is bit of speculation comes on the heels of an ESPN report by John Keim on August 14th, that the rookie was expected to miss another week or two.

At best, any news about the return of Doctson getting on the field should be met with muted expectations at best. Lat week I posted a piece about the caution needed given the nature of the injury. At best, the Achilles seems to heel on its own schedule despite the best efforts of the patient or the treatment. Doctson has tons of upside, but rushing him back has tons of downside.

Tread lightly coach Gruden.
