Former I'm a Celebrity... star Jordan North left his new Capital FM co-hosts confused with a stunt during his first day on air.

North made his debut on Capital FM's breakfast show today (April 8) – replacing the outgoing Roman Kemp – and marked his arrival by walking out of the station mid-show, leaving his new co-hosts Sian Welby and Chris Stark confused.

During the programme, much to the surprise of Welby and Stark, North headed over to Leicester Square, where he'd arranged for a marching band to perform 'The Greatest Show' from 2017's The Greatest Showman.

Revealing North's surprise exit to listeners, Stark explained (via OK!): "It's Chris and Sian here, but we're missing Jordan right now."

He continued: "It's very strange... He sort of took off and we can see him on a screen in front of us. He's here on FaceTime."

As the band performed, the music could be heard inside the building, with also listeners able to hear the commotion outside the studio. Welby told listeners that North was dressed up as lead character PT Barnum (played by Hugh Jackman).

"I truly believe that this is the greatest show," North told his co-presenters and listeners.

His stunt didn't end there, as his co-stars later revealed that he hadn't yet returned to the building for the rest of the programme, with Welby and Stark updating listeners on his antics as the show continued.

Towards the end of the show, Stark urged his new co-star to hurry up in getting back to the studio, saying: "He's in a march [and can't hear us] so we're not totally sure what we're going to do here... We haven't got too long left before the end of the show. We do need him to hurry up."

After North made his way into the studio, he asked his co-stars if it was all "a bit too much," to which Stark joked: "I think it's quite subtle."

Wrapping up the show, North allowed the band to finish their song before telling listeners: "The greatest show is back tomorrow from 6am."

Capital FM's breakfast show airs weekdays from 6am until 10am.
