May 14—SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A federal grand jury indicted a Joplin man Tuesday on charges that he used two children to produce child pornography.

Russell Myers, 44, was named in a two-count indictment handed up in U.S. District Court in Springfield. Myers is accused of using two children — identified only as "Jane Doe" and "John Doe" in court documents — to produce child pornography between Jan. 1 and Feb. 20.

The U.S. attorney's office in Springfield said in a news release announcing the indictment that the charges are the result of an investigation by the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, the Jasper County Sheriff's Department and Joplin police.
