Joplin High’s JAG Club raises funds with car show and craft fair

JOPLIN, Mo. — Some local high school students spent their Saturday morning fundraising.

Students in Joplin High School’s Jobs After Graduation program hosted a car show and craft fair – over at the Roi S. Wood Campus.

Over 17 vendors were on hand to show off their products and support for the “JAG” club.

Meanwhile – over 20 cars – ranging from Mustangs, Camaros, and other makes and models – pulled in for the car show.

All proceeds from this event will help fund competition trips for the group this upcoming school year.

“Yeah, the kids did really well, they started brainstorming, like I said, what do they want to do, then how do they make it happen – so they have done every aspect of getting this show together,” said Shelly Tarter, Joplin Alternative School Principal.

Last year – students in the JAG club made it to nationals.

Now while they didn’t make it to state – this year – they already have their eyes set on a return to nationals – next year.
