Joplin Aquatic Centers 2024 opening dates & ticket prices
JOPLIN, Mo. — Schifferdecker and Cunningham Aquatic Centers in Joplin will be open to swimmers once again, the city announced Wednesday.
Both pools will be open beginning Friday, May 31, 2024.
“We are thrilled to have both pools available to our community,” said Dawn Jones, Recreation Coordinator. “We were pleased to see a significant increase in lifeguard applications this year. Safety is a priority, and it takes a large number of guards to open both pools, so we appreciate the interest in lifeguarding this summer.”
The facilities will be open seven days a week from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. plus extended hours on Fridays until 8 p.m.

At either pool, children aged two and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
The Parks & Recreation Department also sells season swim passes. They are available to purchase at Joplin Athletic Complex, 3301 W. 1st Street, Joplin. Scholarships are available to those who qualify. More information on that can be found on Joplin’s P&R website or by phone, 417-625-4750.
The last day of the 2024 season will be Sunday, August 18.
