Jon Stewart Tears into Donald Trump Supporters in Epic Late Show Takedown

Those missing Jon Stewart on The Daily Show this election season were in for a treat on Thursday night, when the 53-year-old comedian appeared on pal Stephen Colbert's Late Show for an epic takedown of Donald Trump's supporters.

Reflecting on the commentary offered during the week's four-day Republican National Convention, Stewart attacked conservative pundits, saying that "those fighting to be included in the ideal of equality are not being divisive – those fighting to keep those people out are."

"The Republicans appear to have a very clear plan for America. They articulated it throughout the convention," he joked. "No. 1, jail your political opponent. No. 2, inject Rudy Giuliani with a speedball and a Red Bull enema. And then No. 3, spend the rest of the time scaring the holy bejesus out of everybody."

Stewart then spent a significant amount of his 10-minute segment pointing out the hypocritical statements made by conservative commentators, some of whom have embraced Trump for the things they had previously criticized about President Barack Obama.



In particular, Stewart went after Fox News pundit Sean Hannity – or "lump," as Stewart called him – who had criticized Obama for being politically inexperienced and using a TelePrompTer.

"You just want that person to give you your country back, because you feel you're this country's rightful owners," Stewart said, of the right-wing media's support of Trump. "There's only one problem with that – This country isn't yours. You don't own it. It never was. There is no real America. You don't own it. It never was. There is no real America. You don't own it. You don't own patriotism. You don't own Christianity."



"You sure as hell don't own respect for the bravery and sacrifice of military, police, and firefighters," he continued. "Trust me – I saw a lot of people on the convention floor with their 'Blue Lives Matter' rhetoric, who either remained silent or actively fought against the 9/11 First Responders Bill reauthorization."

"I see you, and I see your bull s---," Stewart added. "I see it!"

Stewart ended his segment by ripping off his clip-on tie, and dropping it on the counter.
