Jon Gosselin Is Now Working At T.G.I. Friday's
It's been almost 10 years since the premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8, the addictive reality show featuring a couple that had sextuplets and twins. Alas, the marriage didn't last, and after a messy divorce that played out in the tabloids, the show is now simply Kate Plus 8. And Jon's life has taken a much different turn.
TMZ reports that Jon Gosselin is working as a cook at a T.G.I. Friday's in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He had to go through "chef boot camp" for the gig, and also gets to DJ in the restaurant once a month. It seems like a big financial fall from his reality-show days, but Gosselin says there's a pretty huge catch.
He told Us Weekly that the gig is entirely for a good cause. "I work at TGI Fridays eight hours a week and give my paycheck to charity," he told the magazine. "I love cooking, what's wrong with that? I've been working there about a month, so not long." He's friends with the general manager, Scott Trompeter, and decided to try cooking there as a hobby. Gosselin makes his living these days from DJing in places other than Friday's.
"He's part of my Friday's family," Trompeter told Page Six. "He does a great job, but I know one thing for certain, he does donate his check every week." Trompeter said he didn't know which charities received his money.
But it seems like his charity gig might be short-lived. Gosselin told the Kannon and Sybil radio show that he quit the Friday's job after a photo of him with his coworkers was leaked. But sources at the restaurant told TMZ that he's not quitting, but will return to the kitchen after a vacation.
