JOLIET, Ill. — A man was arrested after allegedly “violently” kicking a dog in the backyard of his Joliet residence on Sunday morning.

Giovanny Aguilar, 36, is facing charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and resisting a peace officer after Joliet police arrived to his home in the 800 block of Croghan just before 11:25 a.m.

Police allege Aguilar was observed “violently kicking” a bull terrier numerous times while the dog laid on the ground.
