Johnstown man accused of sending sexually explicit photographs to Derry Township girl
May 5—A Cambria County man was arrested Wednesday on charges of exchanging sexually explicit photographs with a juvenile girl in Derry Township, according to state police.
Colt T. Bopp, 22, of Johnstown, was arraigned on charges of corruption of a minor, criminal use of a communication facility, knowingly possessing sexual photographs of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor.
State police Trooper Shane McClelland said the girl reported in an interview that she knew Bopp and exchanged sexually explicit photographs with him between November 2018 and January 2018 via social media.
McClelland said the photographs and conversations between Bopp, who was 20, were verified from the juvenile's Facebook messenger account. According to court documents, the girl was 15 when the incidents occurred.
During an interview with Bopp, he confirmed he exchanged explicit photos with the teenager, but said the sexually explicit photographs he sent the girl were randomly taken off the internet and "were not his own."
Bopp was released on signature bond pending a preliminary hearing May 19.
Bopp could not be reached for comment. An attorney was not listed in court documents.
According to online court dockets, Bopp has no prior criminal record in Pennsylvania.
