Johnny Depp gave fans the “best Disneyland experience” when he transformed into Captain Jack Sparrow to join them on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Depp, 53, showed off his sword skills as he donned his character’s iconic costume to entertain fans on the swashbuckling ride in California.

Videos captured on Twitter show the actor reciting lines from the popular film franchise as screaming fans sail past.

“Best Disneyland experience our family has ever been a part of.”

Another said: “Everyone was surprised, shocked and excited to see him.

“He acted exactly like his character in the movies.”

Depp is no stranger to transforming into his pirate alter ego for fans, and visits Great Ormond Street Hospital annually in character.

The Hollywood star will be reunited with Keira Knightley in the upcoming sequel, Salazar’s Revenge.

Knightley is reprising her original role as Elizabeth Swann after a decade away from the franchise.

Orlando Bloom will also be returning to his role as Will Turner. The trio will be joined by new cast members Kaya Scodelario and newcomer Brenton Thwaites for the fifth instalment.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is slated for Uk release on May 26.
