Johnny Borrell Wants To Team Up With Liam Gallagher

They have been called two of indie’s biggest egos.

But Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrellis intent on making music with Liam Gallagher.

Borrell, 36, says the former Oasis singer, 43, is a secret Razorlight fan and expressed his love for the band’s 2006 song America when they bumped into each other in Amy Winehouse’s old haunt, The Hawley Arms, in Camden, north London.

Johnny told The Sun: “I have no opinion on where Liam’s career is at, but last time I saw Liam was in The Hawley Arms and he was telling me that he thought America was a truly great song.

“I think he told me that about eight times. Naturally, I was flattered.

“I’m sure he’s doing fine, but if he ever did want to work with another songwriter, he should feel free to give me a call!”

Borrell once proclaimed himself “the best songwriter” of his generation – despite his first solo album Borrel 1 selling less than 600 copies in its first week of release.
