John Travolta says his bald look is his biggest news since Oscar flub, credits Pitbull
John Travolta is still reveling in the love for his new bold, bald look which was one of the few early signs that 2019 could actually rock.
Travolta, 64, said the joyous outcry over his new 'do has been even bigger than the infamous viral moment when he famously mangled Idina Menzel's name at the 2014 Oscars.
"The biggest fun has been the reaction. I felt like Zoolander or something — I came out and my new look became headline news." Travolta told Extra. "The only other time I was a leading story was when I mispronounced at the Oscars.”
Travolta officially showed off the look in Los Angeles this week, after revealing it on Instagram in early January.
He credits his bald friend, the rapper Pitbull, for the look. Pitbull has been working on convincing him to go clean domed for a while.

"He lives his life like this," said Travolta. "He would send pictures of me. I have all my hair, and he’d superimpose no hair and say, 'I prefer this,' so I thought… Maybe it’s time to do it.”
It's working with his wife Kelly Preston. "She loves it… She has always loved the idea," Travolta said.
Most important, it's easy to maintain. "Life's simpler," he said.
