John Travolta Feels Bad About Coining the Hilarious Adele Dazeem

John Travolta Feels Bad About Coining the Hilarious Adele Dazeem

John Travolta was upset about messing up Idina Menzel's name at the Oscars, but he took the advice of Idina (or, rather, Queen Elsa) and is now embracing it like the rest of us.

In a statement via his publicist (via Today.com) Travolta said: "I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought ... what would Idina Menzel say, She'd say, Let it go, let it go! Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!"  While we'd love to credit the "Let It Go" reference to Travolta himself it was probably thought up by some wise PR person, who thought a cutesy line would serve in place of an actual explanation for what was going on.

In other news, "Adele Dazeem" is still funny. Menzel is currently starring in the musical If/Then, which starts previews on Broadway tomorrow, and one of the show's cast members, Janet Krupin, tweeted out an "at this performance" insert, which announces that Menzel's role of Elizabeth will be played by Dazeem. The insert features a bio for Dazeem, explaining that she started in Nert (Menzel starred in Rent) and played Ephraima in Wicked-ly (Menzel played Elphaba in Wicked).
