John Stella: Your Volusia-Flagler Student of the Week for April 15-19

The results are in, and Father Lopez Catholic High School's John Stella has been named The News-Journal's Student of the Week for April 15-19.

Stella demonstrates exceptional leadership skills as a member of the Freshman Committee Board. He is known for his unwavering kindness and consideration toward others, and he radiates positivity wherever he goes. Stella has fostered a culture of appreciation and mutual respect and has also inspired his peers to excel academically and personally. He collaborates with his peers, encourages participation, values diverse perspectives and contributes to the success of group projects and initiatives. Stella claimed 72% of votes.

University High School's Natalie Schefer took second with 23% of votes.

The Student of the Week poll launches every Monday and closes at noon Thursday.
