John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan: Neighbors think a wedding is happening

Is a wedding in the works for John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan?

The two reconciled in July 2017 after multiple very public splits, and according to residents who live near Mellencamp's South Carolina home, there are nuptials afoot.

Page Six reports that the Daufuskie Island, SC, community is "buzzing with chatter" that Ryan and Mellencamp are arranging what they believe to be an upcoming wedding. The couple has been spotted out and about on the island in recent weeks, and they "appear to be putting together some celebration."

The two first got together in 2011 before splitting in 2014. They got back together and parted ways again by summer 2015. But in July 2017, they reconciled yet again -- and it appears to have stuck this time.

A rep for Ryan shot down the wedding rumors, merely saying, "Not true."

Mellencamp has previously been married three times, while Ryan has walked down the aisle just once. She was married to Dennis Quaid for a decade.

Ryan and Mellencamp both have children of their own, so if it's not a wedding for them, perhaps one of their kids is getting ready to tie the knot? Time will tell!
