John Krasinski, James Corden Hilariously Parody ‘Pulp Fiction’
It’s hard to imagine anyone other than Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta playing “Pulp Fiction’s” gun-toting gangsters Jules and Vincent.
But according to a new mockumentary, the roles originally went to James Corden and John Krasinski. Unfortunately, the duo were cut because they kept confusing their lines with lyrics from Coolio’s “Gansters Paradise.”
In addition to “Pulp Fiction,” Corden and Krasinski were also dropped from “Gone With the Wind,” “A Few Good Men,” and the recent “Into the Woods” (especially painful for Krasinski, as he was replaced by wife Emily Blunt).
Check out “The Late Late Show” sketch below (Corden and Krasinski oddly BOTH sport long Vincent Vega wigs, but that’s neither here nor there).
Of course, in real life, neither has any trouble landing roles.
In addition to “The Late Late Show,” Corden recently hosted the Tonys.
Krasinski played a Navy SEAL in 2015’s “13 Hours” and stars in/directs the upcoming “The Hollars.” He’s also the latest actor to portray fictional CIA agent Jack Ryan (following in the footsteps of Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine) for an upcoming Amazon series.
Krasinski gave Variety his take on the Tom Clancy character at “The Hollars” premiere earlier this week:
“I’m so excited about it. I’ve been such a huge fan of the Jack Ryan series in book form and movie form,” the actor said. “I think he’s almost like our American James Bond. So, I have big shoes to fill. Fewer girls [laughs].”
“Carlton Cuse has a brilliant take on it,” Kransinski added. “His idea is that maybe the two hour format doesn’t serve the books well because there is so much in the books. The books are so rich and maybe this 10 part series is actually a great way to really investigate the world of Jack Ryan because his super power, if you will, is his intelligence. So, if you are a big fan of the spy genre this is going to be fun.”
