John Karna Joins ‘Lady Bird’ Bevy; Natasha Liu Bordizzo Checks Into ‘Hotel Mumbai’

John Karna has been cast Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, a film loosely based on Gerwig’s high school experience that stars Saorise Ronan, Tracy Letts, Beanie Feldstein, Laurie Metcalf and Timothee Chalamet. Karna will play the lead of the high school musical who, in a twist, turns out to have be hooking up with the school’s hot jock. The pic is being produced by Scott Rudin, Evelyn O’Neill and Eli Bush. Karna starred as Noah Foster on the MTV series Scream. On the film side, he was in the comedy Premature. Karna is repped by Gersh, Coronel Group and McKuin Frankel.

Australian actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo has joined the cast of The Weinstein Company’s Hotel Mumbai, which stars Armie Hammer and Dev Patel. Currently shooting in Australia, the Anthony Maras-directed film is based on the documentary Surviving Mumbai, a harrowing account of the 2008 terrorist attack on the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in India by a group of heavily armed Pakistani militants. Bordizzo plays Bree, a backpacking tourist who is caught in the crossfire. She most recently was seen starring opposite Michelle Yeoh and Harry Shum Jr in TWC’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny.
