SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - February 01, 2016) - Each year, John Gomez of Gomez Trial Attorneys is proud to sponsor a Thanksgiving dinner for over 100 underprivileged children. They achieve this with the help of the National Latino Peace Officers Association and the Community Youth Athletic Center. The dinner is held to bridge the gap between divisions among the public, and to offer everyone an opportunity to celebrate the holidays where they otherwise wouldn't have the chance. The meal provides a unique occasion to meet with all members of society, including respected Police, Firefighters, and people in uniform. Their attendance was an inspiration for the youngsters as most of them are role models for those within the local community.
Other esteemed figures include judges, attorneys, business leaders and volunteers, each with their own tales of how they solved challenges in their personal or professional lives. Event sponsor John Gomez shared the difficult obstacles he faced as a child, with a motivating speech that provided a solution on how to overcome problems that may occur in any aspect of a person's life. "If you put your head down, stay focused and work hard, you can accomplish anything," he told the crowd of hundreds. Later, he and other sponsors enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, stuffing, and sides, where guests could socialize, make friends, and share their unique stories. After the speeches and dinner, Gomez treated every child to a bike, a $25 Wal-Mart gift card, and a certificate for a new pair of shoes.
