Joe Walsh on Partying With John Belushi: ‘It Was Terrifying’

Eagles guitarist and legendary partier Joe Walsh stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and remembered what it was like to party with another legend, both of partying and comedy, the late SNL star John Belushi.

Walsh described partying with Belushi as both “scary” and “terrifying,” but not every experience was all that bad.

“I went to Benihana once with John Belushi,” Walsh said, “and he decided he was going to be the cook.”

On this particular occasion, Belushi channeled his beloved character from SNL, Samurai Futaba.

“He went full-on samurai,” Walsh said, adding, “It was messy. Messy.”

Belushi died of a drug overdose at the age of 33 on March 5, 1982.
