Burrow often speaks to the media, considering he is the leader of one of the NFL’s best teams. But his comments are rarely dry and boring.

They call him Joe Cool, and his words are, well – cool.

We looked back at some of Burrow’s most memorable quotes last season, while he led the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance in 33 years. However, he has had a lot more to say throughout the 2022 campaign.

Joe Burrow’s most memorable quotes from the 2022 season

'I’m an Ohio guy'

We all know Burrow has a long history with Ohio. He grew up near Athens and later graduated from Ohio State University (before transferring to LSU). And that connection to his home state has helped him bond with the Bengals fan base.

"I think I'm uniquely positioned to have success in Cincinnati because I'm from Ohio. I understand the people of Ohio,” he said on "The Colin Cowherd Podcast” in September. “So, I have this connection to the fan base that I don't think a lot of other quarterbacks across the league have. I understand them. They understand me. It's just something about growing up in the same area of the country that unites people from that area. … And I think that has kind of drawn them to me and drawn me to them. And it's really been a perfect match. ... I stay here in the offseason just because I'm an Ohio guy. I love the people, love the place. It's been great."

'We are going to go out there and fight our balls off for a W'

Despite making it to their second straight AFC championship game this season, the Bengals didn’t get off to a great start. They were 2-3 heading into a Week 6 matchup with the New Orleans Saints. But the team’s record didn’t matter to Burrow. He would be ready to ball no matter what.

"Every week to me is a must-win and you get devastated if you don't (win)," Burrow said in October, per Sports Illustrated’s All Bengals. "I would be saying the same thing if we were 5-0. We are going to go out there and fight our balls off for a W."

'It sounds like I'm being called ugly'

One of the funniest moments of the year came when Bengals fan Haven Wolfe posted a viral video in which she expressed her thoughts about the team shortly after getting her wisdom teeth removed.

Peyton and Eli Manning brought the clip up while speaking to Burrow on their Monday Night Football Manningcast in Week 14, and Eli mentioned how Wolfe said, "I go for ambition, not looks."

"It sounds like I'm being called ugly there if you ask me. I could be wrong but ..." Burrow joked.

Wolfe later clarified on Twitter that she never called Burrow ugly, and she thinks he is “pretty and talented.”

'The window is my whole career'

Confidence is a characteristic that makes Joe Cool who he is, and the QB had plenty of it following the Bengals’ Week 18 win over the Baltimore Ravens, which clinched a home playoff game for the team.

When discussing his squad’s window to win a Super Bowl, Burrow said, “the window is my whole career. ... Everybody that we have in that locker room – all the coaches we have – things are going to change year to year, but our window is always open.”

If that’s the case, Cincinnati is going to be a magical city for the next decade-plus.

'Guess I grabbed the wrong one'

In the words of the great Hannah Montana: “Everybody makes mistakes.” And Burrow did just that before a press conference leading up to the Bengals’ divisional round matchup with the Buffalo Bills.

The 2022 MVP finalist spoke to the media while wearing a No. 8 jersey instead of his No. 9 (No. 8 belongs to backup quarterback Brandon Allen). So, what was the deal with that?

"Oops. Guess I grabbed the wrong one," he said. "It's been that kind of day."

We’ve all been there, Joe.

'Better send those refunds'

Let’s be blunt here: It seemed like the NFL wanted a Buffalo Bills-Kansas City Chiefs AFC championship game. Due to the Bills and Bengals not playing the same amount of games as the rest of the league following Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest in Week 17, the league announced that a possible Kansas City-Buffalo matchup would take place at a neutral site.

Before the divisional round, the NFL even allowed the Chiefs and Bills to start selling tickets to the game. But the Bengals had something to say about that, beating the Bills 27-10.

Burrow then sent out a message after the victory.

"Better send those refunds,” he said to CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.

This quote now lives in Bengals lore, inspiring cookie designs and T-shirts across the city.

'I'm him!'

Back to that confidence thing: Burrow was feeling himself during the team's playoff win over the Bills.

In a video shared by NFL Films via Twitter, Burrow celebrated a big play with teammate Mike Hilton by yelling, "I'm him!"

When asked about it in a press conference later in the week, Joe didn't remember the celebration, which has become a common phrase in the sports world.

"Did I say that?" Burrow said to reporters. "Sometimes you black out out there I guess, I don't know."

As everyone in our TikTok comments said: We all love a humble king.
