Joe Biden's Starts Off His Americas Trip with the USA vs. Ghana Game
Vice President Joe Biden's trip to South and Central America is about immigration and NSA spying, but really he's there to watch Team USA beat Ghana at the World Cup. Biden will once again represent the U.S. at the Cup, as well as meet with leaders from Brazil, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic during his trip abroad.
The administration announced back in April that Biden would attend the Cup and watch one U.S. national team game. Biden also represented America in 2010 in South Africa, when he called the tournament "the most consequential sporting event in the world," according to the Associated Press. For those of you who aren't familiar with soccer rivalries, the USA vs. Ghana game is especially competitive. CNN reminds us that Ghana is 4-0 against the U.S. all-time, including knocking the Americans out of both of the last two World Cups. The game begins at 6 pm EST.

For those of you who don't know and don't care about soccer, Biden will also try to make peace with Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff. Last fall Rousseff cancelled a visit to the United States after it was revealed that the NSA was spying on her. The Associated Press reports the trip will focus on rebuilding trust and possibly help both countries move forward on trade and oil deals. On Friday, Biden will meet with leaders from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador to discuss the influx on unaccompanied minors into the United States.
