Joe Biden Will Appear On Upcoming Episode of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’

America's favorite VP is heading to the primetime TV.

Vice President Joe Biden is taking his charm and likeability to the small screen. Today (July 29), Biden is reportedly set to film an appearance on possibly one of the most binge-watched shows in history, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Biden has always prioritized efforts to end sexual assault and violence against women. As a senator for Delaware, Biden introduced the Violence Against Women Act which was passed in 1994. According to the White House, this bill “established new federal crimes of interstate domestic violence and stalking, doubled penalties for repeat sex offenders and sparked the passage of laws at the state level to protect victims.”

Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson on the Law & Order spin-off, has been close with the vice president for quite some time. The pair co-starred in a 2014 domestic violence service announcement and the Joyful Heart Foundation, an organization founded by Hargitay that works with survivors of sexual and domestic violence, gave Biden an award earlier this year for his commitment to these issues.

An air date for this episode has not yet been announced.
