Joe Adams resigns as Pike and Wayne counties representative

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU)— Representative Joe Adams (R-Pike/Wayne) has resigned from his position as the representative for the 139th Legislative District of Pennsylvania.

Rep. Adams (R-139) submitted his letter of resignation to Honorary Joanna McClinton, speaker of the PA House of Representatives, officially leaving his position Friday.

Eryn Harvey, Luzerne County Director of Elections resigns

In January, Adams said he would not be seeking re-election.

It has been an honor to serve you, the citizens of Pike and Wayne counties in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Taking care of my family, understandably, must now be my priority. I will continue to work locally to help our community, its organizations, businesses, and people.

Representative Joe Adams (R-Pike/Wayne) said in a release

According to the press release, Adams’ vacancy requires a special election to be held within 60 days of Adams’ resignation.
