What did you miss?

Joan Collins has criticised St Tropez billionaires for "showing off" by parking their mega-yachts in the French town, in an area that has been dubbed Billionaire's Bay.

The Dynasty star reflected on the way in which St Tropez has changed over the years, telling guess, and travel show host, Eugene Levy that it wasn't always like this. When asked about the scale of wealth in the city, particularly the amount of mega-yachts, Collins said: "I hate that, I do think there's a lot of showing off with those big yachts. I prefer the mountains and hills."

What, how, and why?

Joan Collins made a brief appearance on The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy, the Apple TV+ travel series that sees the Schitt's Creek star visit various picturesque locations. The second series of the show sees him travel around Europe.

While sharing her experience living in St Tropez, Collins told Levy: "I've been coming to St Tropez practically since I was 16 or 17".

She explained that St Tropez used to be "a quiet little fishing village", adding: "Coco Chanel used to come here in the 30s, with Hemingway and people like that so a lot of people have been coming here for a long time but it was basically undiscovered."

It wasn't just Collins who criticised the mega-yachts in St Tropez, as Levy also shared his thoughts on the matter and said the people who parked their yachts were saying "look at me" to everyone around them. Billionaires Bay sees celebrities like Giorgio Armani and George Clooney dock their yachts, which costs €3000 per day.

The actor remarked that "its a good thing and a bad thing" to have the yachts around since it does bring in tourism for the town. When walking past the bay and seeing the yachts up close, Levy said: "I don't know, something is screaming hey look at me, look at me hey look what i got everybody."

During the programme, Collins joked that she doesn't "usually wait for men" when Levy was late to meet her for lunch, showing the actor's famous tongue-in-cheek humour.

Elsewhere on the show, Levy went beekeeping, enjoyed the local cuisine and even tried out old farming traditions to discover the other side of St Tropez. The actor has visited Norway and Scotland so far on his trip, and is set to go to also go to Germany, Greece and Spain as well.

The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy series 2 airs on Fridays on Apple TV+.
