Jets' receiver Robby Anderson arrested at raucous Miami music festival

NFL teams have begun their offseason programs, but under the rules of the CBA, they still get a few days off every week.

And while one New York Jets player was spending his downtime at a music festival in Miami this weekend, he wound up getting in trouble.

Robby Anderson, an undrafted rookie in 2016 who wound up starting eight games at receiver and played in all 16, was among thousands at the three-day Rolling Loud festival, which was held outdoors at Bayfront Park.

On Sunday, Anderson was arrested and charged with a felony count of resisting an officer with violence to his person and also obstruction of justice. Newsday acquired the Miami Police Department report of the incident.

According to the report, Anderson, who will turn 24 on Tuesday, was “fighting with security after being told to leave” the concert, and then refused to leave. A police officer arrived and told Anderson to sit on the ground, but the police report states that he “tensed his body and pushed” the responding officer; he was then “redirected to the ground and continued to fight with police and security” before he was arrested.

In a statement, the Jets said, “We are aware of the situation. This is a pending legal matter and we will have no further comment at this time.”

At least one news report out of Miami described Sunday as a raucous day at the festival, with the rap group Migos being moved from one stage to another, which caused a problem as attendees ran from the planned area to the new stage. Eventually, one stage was shut down.

Anderson, listed at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, finished last season with 42 catches for 587 yards and two touchdowns.
