Jet-Setting Royals! Prince Charles and Camilla Visit the Pope in Italy, While King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia Head to Brazil
Royals roaming the world!
It’s a big week for royal travel, with members of several royal families jetting overseas for official visits.
It kicked off with Prince Charless solo visit to Romania last week, where he spent a day getting his dance on, giving hugs and greeting dignitaries in Bucharest, the country’s capital.
He then met up with his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, for a five-day visit to Italy, which has included stops all over the country.
Their first stop was Florence, where the couple posed in front of the famed Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Then, Charles went to Vicenza, where he visited the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.
And Camilla made a stop in Herculaneum, a town near Pompeii that was also buried during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
Later, she went to Naples, where she feasted on some local cuisine.
And Charles headed to Amatrice, which was hit by an earthquake last year.
Charles got to try some pasta there, too.
After Florence came a visit to the Vatican, where they met with none other than his holiness himself: Pope Francis.
And while Charles and Camilla are tackling Italy, another royal couple, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, headed south for an official visit to Brazil on Monday.
So far, Carl Gustaf met with Brazil’s President Michel Temer at the Brazil-Sweden Business Council in São Paulo.
Then he and Silvia attended the Global Child Forum on South America’s inauguration ceremony alongside Temer and his wife, Marcela.
Their visit will include stops in Brasília and Gavião Peixoto.

Not to be outdone by their fellow traveling royals, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain also are on an overseas visit, to Japan. It was a trip for royal mingling, too: Felipe and Letizia were hosted by the Emperor and Empress of Japan for a state dinner at Tokyo’s Imperial Palace.
Also on an international royal visit is King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan. He headed to the United States to meet with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.
The foursome posed in the Oval Office before Rania went on a walk around the White House grounds with Melania.
It’s a busy week for royals around the globe!
