Jesse Quick will be back in The Flash Season 3

It’s official – ‘The Flash’ Season 3 will see the return of Jesse Quick.

After coming to Earth-1 in a desperate attempt to stop Zoom, it’s no surprise that Harrison Wells and his daughter Jesse are packing up and heading home – back to Earth-2.

But it won’t be the last we see of them…

Actress Violett Beane has confirmed that she’s back for Season 3. But will she have powers?

“I know I’ll be back,” she told TVLine. “But I don’t know if it’s with or without powers.”

Of course, Jesse is best known in the comic books as Jesse Quick – a fellow speedster and ally of The Flash. And after her little brush with the speed force earlier in Season 2, it’s left many fans wondering whether she’ll end up with super speed herself.

“When Jesse got hit, I was like ‘It’s happening! It’s happening!” he said. “There was the spark when she got out of the coma, but… it didn’t happen, and I was like, ‘No!’ I’m very excited [to play a speedster], and would love for it to happen early next season’.”

After Barry surrenders his powers to Zoom, Harrison Wells and the team come up with a cunning plan – to recreate the particle accelerator explosion in order to get Barry back up to speed. But it doesn’t exactly go to plan… and when Wally and Jesse are struck by the blast, there’s the possibility that they too could have powers.

Just like The Flash.

Of course, their DC comic book counterparts suggest that both Wally and Jesse will end up speeding around at some point. But whether that happens sooner or later remains to be seen.

But could the Flashpoint storyline change everything?

It’s no secret that Barry’s time-travelling escapades will have huge ramifications. After all, saving his mother could potentially change the entire timeline… and this could open the door for a glimpse of Wally as The Flash – or even Jesse suiting up as Jesse Quick.

“With the whole Flashpoint, anything can happen, right?” she said. “It’s literally open to any different kind of false reality. She could be Earth-One Jesse, she could be a speedster…. Who knows!”

Tom Cavanagh (who plays Jesse’s father, Harrison Wells) has already been confirmed to return in ‘The Flash’ Season 3 as a season regular… But does that mean Earth-2 Wells and his daughter will be back? Could Barry have changed the Earth-1 timeline such that we get our very own Jesse Quick?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘The Flash’ is expected to return to Sky 1 later this year.
