Rather than sipping umbrella drinks in Cancun or slaying ocean monsters off the Carolina coast, Jesse Puljujarvi spent a portion of his bye week in the tropical paradise of, well, Edmonton.

It was all for a good cause, though, as the Oilers rookie surprised some local kids at Crestwood outdoor rink. Footage of the impromptu shinny game was captured wonderfully with a Go Pro by one of the lucky fans:

The two young players, Eric Ripka and Logan Green, told CTV Edmonton they were thrilled to chalk up the W, even though Puljujarvi may have taken it (just a little bit) easy.

“We think he played light against us, ‘cause when he was on a breakaway, all alone, he wouldn’t take the shot. He’d turn around and deke us out again and at the end he said ‘last goal wins’, and we scored that…, “ said Ripka.

Ripka’s mother Colleen had nothign but praise for Puljujarvi, too:

The 19-year-old has eight goals and 11 points in 29 games this season.
