Regarding "In NJ, a push to vote 'uncommitted' to protest Biden support for war in Gaza," NorthJersey.com, April 17:

The 2024 election is rapidly approaching, and New Jersey Democrats running in November must understand that New Jerseyans will no longer “vote blue no matter who.” The campaign to vote “uncommitted” that has trended in Democratic primary elections across various states has gained traction in New Jersey. Sens. Cory Booker and Bob Menendez must represent the interest of New Jersey voters, which is to end the indiscriminate killings of civilians in Gaza using U.S. military aid.

As an advocacy corps organizer for the Friends Committee on National Legislation, I have met with the offices of Booker, Menendez and Rep. Andy Kim on the issue of a cease-fire in Gaza. While all were empathetic to the tragedies that continue occurring in Gaza, their empathy is meaningless without actions. Many of my fellow New Jersey constituents are appalled by these members of Congress’ routine refusal to call for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza. All politicians must reflect the interests of their constituents, and the New Jersey voters are here to say that the UncommittedNJ campaign is not just to hold President Joe Biden accountable, but all Democrats.
