Jeromesville High School Alumni meet for 99th reunion at new Hillsdale High School

The 99th reunion for the Jeromesville High School Alumni was held May 11 at the new Hillsdale School with 12 classes represented.

Tours of the new building were provided for the alumni and guests before the banquet.

Rose snow globes were presented to Marjorie Crumlick Carl, class of 45, the oldest member in attendance; Miriam Humm Geib, class of 54, the honor class member; and Eugene Metcalf, class of 63 for traveling the farthest.

It was noted of the passing of three former educators, Robert Valentine, W.E. Anderson and Ben Shaver, in addition to 19 alumni members.

Virginia Schuck provided an update on the Hayesville & Jeromesville Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. The balance as of May 1 was $197,559.53. Two scholarships were awarded in the amount of $3,456 for 2023. The recipients were Emily McGovern and Marissa Young. Two more scholarships will awarded for 2024 in the amount of $3,591.

A special thank you to Jeromesville and Hayesville merchants for the items provided for a drawing. Kim Paullin prepared the ham loaf dinner and the Hillsdale Music Department members served.

Officers elected for next year are Lorin Weaver president; Gloria Cosner Arnholt, treasurer and vice president; and Delores Metcalf Stumbaugh, secretary.

Lorin Weaver closed the banquet by leading the members in the singing of GOD Bless America.

Next years 100th reunion banquet will be held Saturday May 10.
