Jeff Brohm appears to be coming home to Louisville football. How players, fans are reacting
A Twitter account was created in September with one mission: Bring Jeff Brohm home to replace Scott Satterfield as Louisville's head football coach.
That didn't appear likely when Satterfield led the Cardinals to the program's first winning season since 2019 and a second consecutive bowl appearance. Then, on Monday morning, he left the program to fill a head-coaching vacancy at Cincinnati, opening the door for Brohm's potential return to his home town.
Two days later, a deal to make that happen is all but done. ESPN's Chris Low reported Wednesday morning that Brohm and U of L are "in the process of finalizing" a six-year deal in the range of $35 million.
How did the Twitter user behind @BringBrohmHome react to the news? By changing the account's name to "BROUGHT BROHM HOME."
From 2018:Five things you may not have known about Louisville native Jeff Brohm
"For the FIRST time in what feels like 30 years…we are ALL celebrating TOGETHER," they wrote, attaching a viral .GIF from Brohm's days as a quarterback in the XFL. "Cards are BACK!"

Excited about the new hire for Cards nation. Louisville fans need to pack the house and make Cardinal Stadium a hostile environment in 2023. Have to create a GameDay experience for the future Cards during visits. Make UofL the landing spot in the ACC!!

Local, national media react to Louisville hiring Jeff Brohm
Pretty surreal, the last interview I did with the late Howard Schnellenberger we talked about @JeffBrohm and why he didn't take the U of L job in '18.
He said: "He'll be the coach there someday. Jeff will be a great fit & he'll do a helluva job."
Well, today is the day!— Jody Demling (@jdemling) December 7, 2022
Not sure it will happen but introducing Brohm Thursday, in conjunction with Louisville hosting a women's volleyball regional doubleheader that afternoon, could make for a raucous setting at the Yum Center.

So in the span of 3 days, the coach most Louisville fans wanted gone went and left on his own, and the coach they've been pining for the last 5 years is on his way.

I've texted with some high school coaches in the area about Jeff Brohm. They've had positive experiences. From one: "Brohm is the real deal, fantastic relationships with HS coaches... I feel very comfortable with his staff. They are great communicators."

Just left my primary doctor and I’m now being sent to the hospital for a listeria test after eating recalled lunch meat earlier this week. But I’m not even worried. Jeff Brohm is coming home.
— Nick Coffey (@TheCardConnect) December 7, 2022
Fanbase will love this. He is a good coach…probably won’t be the miracle worker UL fans hope but will unify the fanbase and make them more competitive
It will be harder for UK to recruit city of Louisville going forward https://t.co/sEcW9cVHUp— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) December 7, 2022
Jeff Brohm is a good hire for Louisville. I have no idea if it will work out.
