A Jealousy-Inducing Guide to All of Meghan and Harry's Crazy-Fancy Homes

From Cosmopolitan

Hello, how many homes do you own? Zero? Same! But you can always ask Prince Harry and Meghan Markle if you can borrow one of theirs real quick, because they have more than enough to go around. Turns out the Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently call threevery fancy residences home-and those are just the confirmed properties. Here's a guide to their real estate portfolio, in case you're in the mood to feel extremely jealous while sitting in your studio apartment.

Things you need to know about about Frogmore Cottage: 1) Calling this place a "cottage" is like calling Buckingham Palace an itty bitty mansion. 2) It was literally named after a buncha frogs by someone who clearly had an amphibian fetish. 3) It's going to be Meghan and Harry's main residence.

Where Is It, Tho?

Frogmore is about 30 miles outside of London, and it's actually part of the Windsor Estate, which is where the Queen spends much of her time. It also happens to be right next door to Frogmore House (good lord, pick any other name)-aka the place Meghan and Harry held their wedding reception:

So, Why Frogmore?

Aside from the sentimental wedding vibes (and of course the abundance of frog friends), Meghan and Harry reportedly want increased security: "The Cambridges have their garden in the back [of Kensington Palace], which is nice, but there is no real other space for children to play in," a source tells The Daily Mail. "Frogmore, which is inside the Windsor security zone, is secluded, peaceful, tranquil and, most importantly, private. No one will see them coming or going."

But FYI, They Don't Live There Yet

Frogmore Cottage is currently undergoing major renovations so that it's fit for Meghan and Harry's growing family (plus their nanny, security, and Meghan's mom Doria). As of now, the cottage consists of five separate apartments that palace staff have been living in, which will be converted into one big home for the Sussexes. This reno is sliiiiightly controversial because it's likely being paid by taxpayer money-but, like, who WOULDN'T want to give up a portion of their paycheck so Meghan and Harry can live their best frog-themed life?!

Meghan and Harry currently live in Nottingham Cottage, a small building inside the grounds of Kensington Palace that's super cute but has almost no privacy due to being right next to everything/everyone-including Kate Middleton and Prince William.

Okay, But Is Nottingham a Cottage or a "Cottage?"

It's a legit cottage! Harry and Meghan's current place has just two bedrooms, as well as "one bathroom, two reception rooms, a kitchen, living room and small garden out back."

FYI, Kate and William Used to Live There

The Cambridges posted up at Notts Cott (yes, that's its official nickname) for a full two years before moving into "Apartment 1A," where the icon known as Princess Margaret used to live. Basically, staying there is a rite of passage for new royal couples.

Barely anything is known about this place (which is probably good for privacy reasons!), but news broke in early January that Meghan and Harry had been spending time at a country home in the Cotswolds, which sounds lovely. The renovated farmhouse is reportedly worth £2.5 million, and has four bedrooms, plus a two-bedroom "outhouse," which I'm going to hope assume is royal slang for "guesthouse" rather than a grungy toilet shack. The Sussexes have used their Cotswold home to entertain celeb guests like George and Amal Clooney, who-FYI-are rumored to be named godparents to the royal baby.

Meghan and Harry most likely don't live in or own any of the following places, but at one point or another, fans speculated that they might. So naturally I'm going to do my due diligence and begin with...

Luckington Court

Last year, there were a bunch of theories that Megs and Harry were moving into this multi-million dollar countryside manor after it mysteriously went off the market right after Harry and Meghan announced their engagement. It also happens to be near Highgrove House, where Harry spent much of his childhood, so it made some logical sense, too. But considering there was no follow-up confirmation, it's fair to assume that the Sussexes didn't actually buy Luckington.

York Cottage

Back in May 2018, a report surfaced that Queen Elizabeth II would be giving Meghan and Harry a country home called York Cottage on her Sandringham estate. William and Kate already have a home in the area (which is where the royals holiday), so the report made a lot of sense! It's unknown whether or not Her Majesty went through with the plan, but either way York Cottage is haunted so don't be too jealous:

Adelaide Cottage

Oh look, another "cottage" that the Queen was rumored to have gifted Megs and Harry! The thing is, Adelaide is also in Windsor, and the happy couple is already renovating Frogmore. Soooo...chances are this place was rejected. Bye!
