JAY-Z just changed his name - can you spot the difference?

His album ‘4:44’ drops June 30th, and ahead of his big reveal, JAY-Z has decided to change his name, again.

Did you spot the update?

According to Pitchfork, the rapper is reprising the hyphen in his name and upgrading his moniker to feature ALL caps.

So it will officially read as JAY-Z.

Potatoe, potato.

It’s been four years since the 47 year old switched things up. Back in 2013, the music mogul – real name Shawn Corey Carter – dropped the hyphen from his name because it was “not useful anymore”, but it is unclear why he has now restored it.

In more interesting news, Jay’s (we officially refuse to type it in caps every time) album is set to include a movie promo starring Oscar winners Mahershala Ali and Lupita Nyong’o, and Lethal Weapon legend Danny Glover.

In it, Moonlight star Mahershala plays a boxer and is using a punch bag, which is be being held by the trainer (Danny Glover).

The movie is reportedly set to be released through TIDAL only via a partnership with Sprint.

Since the father of twins is working so hard on his album and night feeds, it’s only fair that we spell his name right.
