Jay teacher’s commitment to excellence earns top honor

JAY, Okla. – The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence awarded Jay teacher Jennifer Goldner with a $5,000 check as this year’s recipient of the Medal For Excellence in Elementary Teaching.

Elizabeth Inbody, the foundation’s executive director, presented the check during an assembly at Jay Upper Elementary School on Tuesday.

The Medal for Excellence in Elementary Teaching award is one of Oklahoma’s most prestigious educator awards and recognizes public school educators for their passion and innovation, commitment to professional development, and extraordinary impact on student learning.

Goldner, a fifth-grade science teacher at Jay Upper Elementary School, has taught since 1998.

She will honored at the foundation’s Academic Awards Celebration on May 4 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Norman..

Through its flagship Academic Awards Program, the foundation presents $175,000 annually to honor outstanding public school students and educators.
