Jay-R Siaboc clarifies recent drugs issue

The singer went to the police to clarify his situation following rumours of a watch list

20 Jul - PDA alumnus Jay-R Siaboc has shared his side of the story as to why he surrendered to the police for his drug problem.

As reported on ABS-CBN News, the singer, who went on an interview with Boy Abunda on his show recently, revealed that he decided go to the police station after being told by a friend about a supposed 'watch list' of illegal drug users and pushers.

Siaboc, who admitted to being a user, stated that he was afraid that he would be listed as a wanted drug pusher despite never even selling drugs, which is why he decided to clarify the situation with the Toledo City police.

"I asked to cooperate with them. I just wanted to clear up the air about my situation," he said.

Siaboc revealed that he filled up a form given by the police, which was labelled confidential, and was surprised when it made the news the following day.

However, the singer believes that the information wasn't leaked by the police, and that maybe somebody saw him at the station and told the media about it.

He also admitted to have been using drugs before he had his own family, saying that he had succumbed to the pressure. Nonetheless, being a user is the absolute extent of his involvement in drugs.

When asked what he has learned from this incident, Siaboc said, "I learned to appreciate the things in our life."

The singer also expressed willingness to return to the music industry if he's given another chance.
