Jason Kelce is officially hanging up his football jersey for good.

The Philadelphia Eagles center held a press conference Monday afternoon to announce his retirement, leaving the NFL after 13 seasons.

USA TODAY noted he thanked several family members, coaches and teammates, some dating back to his days in high school, sharing formative anecdotes that he said made him the player and person he became with the Eagles.

“I’ve been asked many times, Why did I choose football? What drew me to the game? and I’ve never had an answer that gets it right,” the Super Bowl LII champion said at his press conference while fighting back tears. “The best way I can explain it is what draws you to your favorite song, your favorite book — it’s what it makes you feel. The seriousness of it, the intensity of it, stepping on the field was the most alive and free I have ever felt.”

Kelce made his first Pro Bowl in 2014 and was named All-Pro in six of the past seven seasons. He leaves the game as one of the most popular players in Eagles history and a likely first-ballot Hall of Famer.

When was it first rumored Kelce was retiring?

Back in January, it was rumored Kelce told teammates in the locker room that he was retiring following Eagles’ wild-card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to USA TODAY, the 36-year-old had contemplated retirement before, but each time previously decided to come back to try to help lead the Eagles to another Super Bowl.

With all the discussion of retirement, there was one important voice that was missing — Kelce's own statement.

When discussing the aftermath of the Eagles’ wild-card loss, Jason Kelce took to his “New Heights” podcast to talk about the speculation spiraling the media realm.

“I didn’t announce what I was doing on purpose, despite what’s been leaked to the media,” Jason said to brother and podcast co-host, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really make that decision, I just don’t, there’s too much emotion in the moment, there’s too much going down in the moment to really fully grasp that decision.”

Maybe the Kelce family will vacation in Florida. Where is the Kelce family condo?

The luxury condo is in the picturesque neighborhood of Baldwin Park in Orlando. Formerly the site of a sprawling Naval Training Center, it is roughly four miles from the downtown area and is known for its tranquil way of living.

Records show that almost the entire Kelce family is on the deed, with the matriarch listed first and Travis and Jason as remaindermen.

According to the Sun, the 1,434-square-foot home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen also features an island, stainless steel appliances and wood cabinets.

The condominium was built in 2005. There is a wrap-around balcony to enjoy the Florida weather. ,

It's also only a 25-minute drive (depending on I-4 traffic) away from the Disney World theme parks, a perfect day trip for Kelce, his wife Kylie and their three adorable daughters — Wyatt, Eliotte, and Bennett.

And it's less than 3 hours away from Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, where Travis's girlfriend Taylor Swift will perform for three nights in October.

What made the Kelce family head South to the Sunshine State? Are they originally from here?

As die-hard Kansas City Chief and Philadelphia Eagles fans might know, the brothers are originally from the Buckeye State — Ohio.

They were born and raised in Cleveland Heights, where they were athletes at Cleveland Heights High School. They remained in Ohio for college, attending the University of Cincinnati to play for the Bearcats.

It was recently revealed that Travis has spent seven of his 11 NFL offseasons renting a house for two months in Boca Raton to work with his longtime training guru, Andrew Spruill. Spruill told the Palm Beach Post that he is expecting the football star back this year.

“According to him, he’s coming back,’’ Spruill said. “I went up for two games to go see him. I trust he’ll be back, especially if he wants to keep playing at the age he is. He needs to get in the gym and make sure he’s ready.’’
