Jared Leto is already known for his magical hair, eyes and voice - and he cast a spell on the Academy voters last year and nabbed an Oscar - but can he play Marvel's Doctor Strange?
According to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, director Scott Derrickson (who helmed "Sinister" and "Deliver Us from Evil") has been tapped to direct the story of Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange, a former neurosurgeon who serves as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme - the world's protector from magical and mystical evils.
According to Badass Digest, Jared Leto is being eyed for the lead. Other names who have been in the mix for the sorcerer include Mads Mikkelsen, Johnny Depp and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Details on the movie are being kept under wraps, but last year Marvel's Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly, "He's a great standalone character. And that world of pure magic, we haven't done yet."
