Janet Jackson Has Baby Boy At 50
Singer and actress Janet Jackson welcomed her first child with Wissam Al Mana, her husband of four years, on Tuesday, a representative for the “Rhythm Nation” singer confirmed.
“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” the 50-year-old singer’s representative reportedly said. “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”
Rumors of the seven-time Grammy award-winning popstar being pregnant first surfaced when she postponed her “Unbreakable” tour telling fans “there’s been a sudden change.”
She married Al Mana in 2012. Here are six facts about the Qatari businessman:
1. Al Mana has an estimated net worth of $1 billion. His family owns several companies in the Gulf region ranging from real estate, automotive distribution, engineering and construction, retail, food services and media. The 42-year-old is the executive director of Al Mana’s fashion portfolio, which includes Hermes, Sonia Rykiel and Agent Provocateur.
2. His businesses operate in several countries including Bahrain, Ireland, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the U.K. and Qatar.
3. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia about his wife, Al Mana said: “I’m fortunate enough to be dating my dream woman.” The two described their wedding as “private and beautiful.”
4. Jackson dropped her first single in seven years when dating Al Mana even dedicating the single “No Sleeep” to him, referring to him as “my love.”
5. The 42-year-old described himself as “a very, very private person. I don’t have Facebook, I don’t have Twitter ... I don’t even have WhatsApp!” he told Entrepreneur.
6. His father died when he was young leaving Al Mana and his brothers to take over the family business. “My father passed away when I was quite young, and I felt that it was my duty to kind of pick up the flag and to continue the business, and try to continue the legacy and the family name. It’s in our blood, we’re merchants… We take pride in that, it’s our heritage,” he reportedly said.
