James Holzhauer is a doting dad, but not that doting.

As his incredible winning streak on "Jeopardy" came to a close this week, a slew of fans took to Twitter to suggest that Holzhauer intentionally threw his losing round. The most frequent explanation? The pro gambler had said his young daughter was anxiously awaiting his return, so he wanted to get home earlier.

"I think James Holzhauer lost 'Jeopardy' on purpose today," one viewer tweeted. "His daughter wanted him to come home and the thank-you card she made Alex Trebek sends us the biggest lesson of all: Money isn't everything."

However, as cute as that version of reality may be, it's just not the case.

"Sure, I could stick around and play a game that pays me $150,000 per hour, but I'd really rather get toys thrown at my crotch for free," he cracked in response.

He later joked about other fan conspiracy theories, tweeting, "Jet fuel can't melt buzzers" — a reference to the common refrain of 9/11 "truthers."

So "Jeopardy" fans, rest assured, Holzhauer lost fair and square.
