James Comey Basks In The Glow Of Michael Flynn's Downfall

Former FBI DirectorJames Comeyis a shade king.

In response to former national security adviser Michael Flynn’sguilty plea Fridayon a charge of lying to the FBI, Comey tweeted and Instagrammed a verse from the Bible about the virtues of justice.

“But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream,” the message says.

His Instagram post features a lovely photograph of the Great Falls of the Potomac:

PresidentDonald Trump fired the former FBI directorin May. The president said in a dismissal letter that Comey was “not able to effectively lead the Bureau.”

Comey had been leading the FBI’s investigation into the current administration’s possible ties with Russia since July. Comey would later testify that Trump specifically requested that he end the FBI’s investigation into Flynn, which made his tweet about justice just after Flynn’s guilty plea incredibly apropos.

Comey doesn’t tweet often, but he certainly does so with purpose. He used to tweet under the name “Reinhold Niebuhr” on Twitter (until he was outed) and has previously remarked about justice on the platform. Just after former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and his former business associate Richard Gates were indictedas part of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, Comey tweeted about “man’s inclination to injustice.”

Never stop tweeting, Comey. Never.
