Jamel Flint sentenced for 2022 Hookah Lounge shooting that killed Roanoke teen

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On April 2, 26-year-old Jamel Flint was sentenced to 103 years in prison for the murder of teenager Isiah Robinson that occurred during the shooting at the Melody Hookah Lounge in 2022.

On Tuesday, Flint received 50 years for First-degree Murder, 40 years for two counts of Malicious Wounding, and 13 years for three counts of the Use of a Firearm, for a total of 103 years suspended after 65 years.

During the trial, Flint testified he was scared for his life and his actions were out of self-defense; however, he was found guilty by a jury on Sept. 12, 2023, after admitting to firing a gun that matched the description of the weapon used in the shooting and identifying himself in surveillance footage.

Isiah Robinson was only 18 years old and a student at Roanoke High School.
