Jamaica Club Owner And 'Cousin' Convicted In Patron's Murder

The two face up to life in prison after jurors found them guilty of fatally shooting a club patron in a post-Christmas party spat.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A Jamaica club owner and his close friend were convicted in a deadly shooting of a patron following a Christmas party spat in 2015, prosecutors said Thursday.

Neon Osouna, 38, and Brandon Williams, 36, were found guilty of murder on Wednesday after nearly a two-week-long trial for gunning down a Bronx man in the early hours of Dec. 26, 2015, said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Osouna and Williams - who refer to themselves as cousins - had plotted to kill then-35-year-old Donald Reed after he attended a party with friends at Osouna's club, the Smoke Shop, where Williams was a bouncer, according to trial testimony.

Reed left the club on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard at about 6:30 a.m. to join his friends at a nearby bodega, where the two "cousins" followed and confronted him. The argument resulted in gunfire, with Osouna and Williams shooting Reed - who also had a gun - four times.

Medics rushed Reed to Jamaica Hospital for gunshots to his neck and torso, where he was pronounced dead.

“This is yet another example of the senseless gun violence that has plagued our community," Brown said.

Osouna and Williams were each convicted of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the slaying. Both are set to be sentence on Sept. 26.

Each faces up to life in prison if convicted.
